SAO PAULO – On Tuesday the 1st, President Jair Bolsonaro confirmed that the country will be the new host of the America’s Cup and by twitter the Chief of Staff Minister Luiz Eduardo Ramos has already announced which states will host the games. They will be in the states of Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, the Federal District and Goiás. The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, used social media to inform that the state will not receive games in the competition. He said that the “priority is to contain the pandemic” and that the Copa America “would represent a bad signal for the slowdown in controlling the transmission of the coronavirus”
